They also need personalized activities. Some children are visual learners, some learn best through physical activity, and some learn best by listening. TYO provides children and the community with these valuable learning resources because they care about them.
Read MoreWhen I’m not in TYO, and I don’t have exams, I like to paint. My favorite thing to paint is faces because they show emotions and feelings. I hope that if I take some courses, my painting will improve and I can fulfill my goal – to be an artist.

Read MoreHaya Feno was born and raised in Nablus and is a student at Al-Quds Open University studying business administration. Haya started volunteering in 2015 with the Core AM program. She originally began volunteering because she was required to complete 50 service hours during a class at Al-Quds Open University. Haya loved volunteering and completed 104 hours in her first volunteer session with Core AM. This is her third session at TYO having volunteered two sessions with Core AM and one as a local intern with Core PM.

Sujood graduated from Hisham Hijjawi College in 2015 with a degree in Office Administration and enjoys writing poetry and short stories in her free time. Before becoming a volunteer, Sujood would accompany her sister while she volunteered. Having enjoyed the experience and the work TYO was doing, so Sujood decided to become a volunteer herself. She has been a volunteer with the After-school Academic Support for Kids program for one session.

I learned I love working with children because they are silly and make me smile. When I am here I am filled with so much happiness. Now I know that I enjoy my time working with children more than IT, so I hope to find a job where children are the focus.
Read MoreEducation is so important. We need education so that we can develop ourselves and develop our country, and also because education really helps people. I love working with the little children, but it can be hard. In the beginning, they always started to cry, and it can be hard to control them, but we try. We try to hold them and be soft to them. And we succeed! My best memory of playing with them is when we went outside with another class and played football with my class against his. My team won!

Read MoreMasarah Kana’an was born and raised in Nablus. She studied Early Childhood Education at Al Rawda College until her graduation in 2014. Masarah has been active with TYO since February 2016 as both a student in the STEP! II EFL Program and as a volunteer with the Youth Service Learning Program. tAlways eager to help others, Masarah began volunteering with the Core Child Program because she wants to help educate and help children to grow in a positive atmosphere within the Nablus community.
