The Student Training and Employment Program (STEP!) was funded by the Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation (AHSF) and implemented by TYO in cooperation with Columbia University’s School of Social Work (CUSSW) and Middle East Research Center in Amman (CUMERC).
In an increasingly fragile economy, both job-specific and “foundational skills” such as critical thinking, problem solving, and and cooperation are fundamental. Now more than ever, investing in holistic early childhood education is critical. More than 700 children received world-class early childhood development programs based on research and curriculum development with support from CUSSW.
- More than 500 youth participated in educational and leadership activities to develop employment and life skills through training and practical experience.
- More than 700 children received world-class early childhood development programs based on research and curriculum development in partnership with the Columbia University Middle East Research Center (CUMERC) in Amman, Jordan.
- In close partnership with the Education Department and Faculty at An Najah University, CUMERC’s research, evaluation, and subsequent curriculum enhancement indirectly served thousands of students at the University.
