Women’s Incubation Services for Entrepreneurs (WISE)

Program Dates: July 2012 – July 2013

In cooperation with the PalTel Group Foundation, Women’s Incubation Services for Entrepreneurs (WISE) was the second phase the Fostering Women Entrepreneurs in Nablus (FWEN) project. Through the FWEN project, TYO recognized the need for extended support services for entrepreneurs following the business development phase. The WISE program provided a new platform to help facilitate growth and sustainability of businesses: an incubation center. The incubation center was the first of its kind to serve women of the northern West Bank who cannot access services offered in Ramallah or other areas.

TYO worked with the Small Enterprise Center and Souktel to facilitate trainings and offer mobile technology services. The year-long incubation project included trainings on relevant topics, such as:

  1. Marketing, including selling solutions and adding value to the market
  2. Financial growth and access to capital
  3. Advanced IT
  4. Business English

WISE also facilitated mentor relationships that allowed the participants to hone in on their networking skills and self-confidence with regional and international experts.

Over the span of a year the project directly benefited 15 female owned businesses and indirectly engaged 100 local community members.
