WOMEN’S EMPOWERMENT

Women play a central role in the family and as leaders in the community. We equip women to build on their own self-care, confidence, learning and financial independence to act as a catalyst for positive change in their family and society, and to establish a safe, nurturing home environment for their children’s growth and development.

Women’s Empowerment & Parenting Program (WEPP)

The prolonged conflict and its impact on gender dynamics and family structures have intensified gender-based violence. Our program aims to empower women who have experienced gender-based violence, enabling them to overcome trauma and emerge as leaders who break the cycle of poverty, violence, and inequality.

Through the Women's Empowerment and Parenting Program (WEPP), we have provided a supportive environment for disadvantaged women to enhance their confidence and self-worth. This newfound self-awareness has been instrumental in improving their parenting skills. The program has offered a vital opportunity for women to enhance their confidence and self-worth.

This newfound self-awareness has been instrumental in improving their parenting skills. The program has offered a vital opportunity for women to understand the impact of trauma on their well-being and that of their families. Women have participated in fitness, English, and mental health classes, with the objectives of fostering self-worth, strengthening self-esteem and self-confidence, and enhancing their social, health, and parenting skills

With support from Qatar Fund for Development, our program for women was developed.

Parent-Child Communication

Parents regularly accompany their children into the classroom to develop parent-child communication and discipline skills, gaining techniques learned under the guidance and supervision of our qualified teachers and social workers.

We provide parents with a safe space and platform to candidly discuss their thoughts, questions and concerns. We also connect them to resources and local organizations that are available to assist them in needs outside of our capacity.

Female Entrepreneurship

TYO promotes entrepreneurship among women to support their economic independence and personal goals, whilst addressing their needs for childcare and personal development. Many women in our communities possess education, motivation, and basic skills; we provide the concrete programming, training and skill-development to make their participation in the workforce feasible, effective and equal.

Female education and workforce participation is a key to long-term economic growth. In order to effectively leverage this opportunity, women need holistic support that understands the specific context, challenges and barriers they experience. We provide an incubation space for emerging ideas and projects as well as institutional support through training and professional mentor-ship.
