TYO-L Marks International Women’s Week with Smartphone Technology Training and the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women Webinar hosted by Mrs. Blair!

Last Thursday, TYO-Lebanon FWEME beneficiaries gathered at the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Zahle and Bekaa to attend a special webinar with Mrs. Blair to mark International Women’s Day. The webinar discussed different challenges that women face around the world, and offered a variety of ways that women can work together to face these challenges. The webinar brought together 100 people from over 20 countries to connect and celebrate the achievements of women from all corners of the globe. Mrs. Blair answered questions attentively from entrepreneurs in the webinar, highlighting why International Women’s Day is so important, why she was inspired to set up the Foundation, how she has been able to transform challenges into strengths, and strike a good work/life balance. TYO-L beneficiaries were very interested in the webinar and were inspired and motivated by Mrs. Blair’s speech.  FWEME beneficiary Ms. Joumana Choueiry shared that, “It’s great when you always feel that there are people out there willing to help and encourage you in every step.” In addition to the webinar, TYO-L provided FWEME beneficiaries with Smart Phone Technology Training, donated by Blackberry, where we distributed free Blackberry phones to our beneficiaries. The women were delighted with their new smart phones and look forward to incorporating the “smart” technology into their smart businesses!
