Humans of Nablus 55

Hello, my name is Nazik Hawah. I was born and raised in Nablus, more specifically in the Old City, which holds a very special place in my heart, because it truly represents the history and the spirit of the city.

I have worked as a Social Worker in the Mental Health Program at TYO for two years now. But my journey in this field began way before, when I chose to study Sociology and Social Work at An Najah National University. Four years ago, I started doing fieldwork in support of families and children in the Old City and the neighborhoods around it. What I did was help these individuals and families overcome psychological and social challenges by providing them with appropriate tools and guiding them toward finding solutions.

Besides the assistance I can offer to my community, I see that my work also significantly contributes to my own personal growth. It has instilled in me many profound human values, it has expanded my perspective and my interests, and it has strengthened my connection with and my commitment to help my community.

Looking ahead, I wish to continue my studies and delve deeper into my specialty, gaining more knowledge and experience in order to offer the best of my abilities to serve our communities. The children and families here deserve the best possible efforts, and I want to be a part of it.

In my free time, I enjoy reading books and novels, where I can find a refuge for relaxation and contemplation. I feel that reading enriches my knowledge and broadens my intellectual horizons. I also love spending time with my friends and family, because they are a source of support and inspiration in my daily life.
