Humans of Nablus 57
Hello! My name is Dana Kanaan, I am a Business Administration graduate from An-Najah National University.
Being from Nablus, this city holds a special place in my heart. It is distinguished by its rich history and its warm resilient people, who come together as one family during all crises, supporting and helping one another in every circumstance. I feel proud to be part of this wonderful and historical city.
I had a temporary job a while ago, which helped me gain practical experience and many important skills. And in my free time, I love to read, and I believe the many hobbies I have reflect who I am – such as traveling and exploring the world around me, as well as learning new languages.
But what I am really passionate about is volunteering and serving my community. I feel a sense of comfort and accomplishment when I can help those around me. I always aspire to serve my community and offer my skills and knowledge to others, sharing what I know while constantly striving to learn and discover new things.
I found out about TYO through social media and I was impressed by its diverse programs aimed at empowering different groups in society. I chose to volunteer at TYO, and more specifically in the Early Childhood Education Program to offer my skills and experience to create opportunities for these children.
Every day, I collaborate with teachers to welcome the children to the TYO center, and to implement various activities. I am responsible for supervising and assisting the class, carrying out educational activities that help children acquire new valuable skills, instilling in them the importance of education at an early age.
What I like most about the Volunteer Program at TYO is the supportive environment it offers youth my age, as well as the combination of education and recreation that encourage children to learn and build relationships.
All in all, I believe the programs offered by TYO are of great importance to our community, because they focus on empowering different groups and fostering creative thinking for a better future.
