Sustainable Project Management Training
On Sunday, January 29, UNESCO's division of Palestinian Women's Research and Documentation Center hosted a celebration for the end of their Sustainable Project Cycle Management Training. Along with 25 other participants from local organizations, I completed 175 hours of the trainings given by the Strategic Management and Planning Society of Ramallah.
The trainings were very helpful in teaching me how to establish sustainable projects, monitor and evaluate them, create specific goals and indicators, write fundraising proposals, create a budget, and document it all in an application called Microsoft Office Project Professional. Furthermore, the training helped me to refresh life skills like communication, leadership, teamwork and problem solving. During the training I was able to apply these skills into a practical project proposal that I submitted on the development of life skills for girls who have recently graduated in Nablus and Tulkarem. Submitting this proposal was very important to me during this project training because most of girls who graduate from universities in these governates are in need of developing life skills.
TYO gave me the opportunity to participate in this long-term training, and it is my pleasure to now pass it on to staff and volunteers. I will work with the volunteers on an individual basis to help them excel in whatever project proposals they might have in mind. The training was extremely beneficial for me, and I hope to pay it forward to the youth at TYO.
